Hearing health educational interventions for school students

ABSTRACT Purpose: to implement and assess hearing health interventions for school students, using Dangerous Decibels® Program activities in partnership with the Young Doctor Project, approaching noise-induced loss prevention. Methods: study encompassed 41 aged 12 14 years, from two schools inland São Paulo a social institution public students. Activities were based on Project Brazil Program. The students answered questionnaire administered three situations: before intervention (pre), right after (post), 4 months intervention. ANOVA, Friedman (p < 0.001), Tukey´s 0.05) statistical tests used. Results: who participated program protagonists of knowledge, spreading content they learned another 954 through cultural workshops. analysis effectiveness revealed improved results afterward. Conclusion: combining these programs encouraged protagonism young people increase their involvement community. Moreover, changed attitude toward potentially dangerous sounds.
